Tylenol
and Codeine
Tylenol is the brand name otherwise known as Acetaminophen.
Other naming for it includes APAP, Capital and Pheniphen.
It is especially popular in the United States where it is known
as Tylenol and used to relief mild pain.
Codeine
is added to Tylenol to increase its effectiveness to combat mild
to moderate pain. In this form it can be called Tylenol No. 2, Tylenol
No.3 and Tylenol Np.4. The number is an indication of the quantitiy
of codeine which is combined with Tylenol in each pill.
Tylenol
with codeine comes in the form of a pill or capsule to take oraly.
Usually taken as one dose every six hours.Side effects that could
happen include drowsiness and stomach upsets.
What
is important in this case is the effect of the Acetaminophen, no
more than 4000 mg of Acetaminophen should be taken daily as this
could cause liver damage.
